What I want to share from my experiences is that love conquers everything. It is my hope that it will inspire the readers to open their hearts to the Divine. If we can try to understand that we all are equally part of the Divine and are here to achieve this greater Truth and to realise our Self - if we make this our goal and do everything with Love…then everything will be lovely and you will always be happy.

Words of Sri Swami Vishwananda......

You will realise this cosmic Christ within, which is our Self. Of course, this is not a very quick process. You really have to dedicate yourself to that. It’s not just by touching it a little bit and feeling it and saying, “OK, this is good. I will take it or not.” You have really to be in it...... deep inside. You really have to fall in love completely. Completely trust, to really know the depth of this love, to really know the depth of this trust. One way is through meditation.

A guided meditation by Sri Swami Vishwananda....

A guided meditation:
Take a few deep breaths and when you breath out, drop your shoulders; release all the pressure from your shoulders. Close your eyes. Focus your concentration on your third eye. And then, with the power of creation that God has given you, create the OM sign or any Divine symbol or aspect - the cross or any symbol you feel close with. And concentrate all your attention on this point, on this aspect. The mind will think; let it think. Don’t try to stop it; don’t use force to stop it. But don’t hang onto this thought. In the same way it comes let it go. Focus on this Divine aspect, and, with your ears, listen to your breathing. Listen to it carefully. You will hear, when you inhale - if you listen properly - you will be inhaling OM in and the same when you exhale, the sound will be OM. After some time, you will feel a pressure point where you are concentrating. Let it expand. Let this energy expand, covering your whole head. Let it expand to your upper part of your body - your arms, your chest, and your back. Let it expand to the upper part of your body - your legs, your feet. If you have any pain or illness, focus on that point. Let it vibrate. Now, focus on the heart. Let the OM vibrate in your heart. Let it vibrate more and more At the same time, choose the image that you created, that you like, and make it go inside your heart. So come back to yourself.

You see this form of visualisation is very simple for practicing anywhere you are. In place of thinking or talking of things, which are of no use, learn to sit quietly, keep the mind busy, but keep the mind focusing on positivity.

All of you flow back to the same ocean.......

People can see with their two eyes. With the physical eyes they see only the outside. But what is behind the guru is the same light. The guru will take your hand and bring you to a level where you can stand on your own feet. I don’t mean that you don’t need the guru. He will always be there, but he will put himself in the background. Then the inner guru will become more important. This is the greatness of a master.
Let me tell you a story. Once there was a fight between the devotees of Shiva and Vishnu. The devotees of Shiva said, “Shiva is the greatest!”.And the devotees of Vishnu said, “Vishnu is the greatest!” So, God was just looking at the devotees, at what they were doing. This lasted for years and years, until finally the Lord Himself decided to come. Vishnu changed himself into Shiva, and went to the devotees of Shiva, and Shiva changed himself to Vishnu, and went to the devotees of Vishnu. So everybody was praising their master, saying “Oh, you are great. You are great!” After some time they noticed that Vishnu, who is normally the embodiment of calmness, was different. And this quality isn’t normally found in Shiva. The devotees of Shiva saw that this Shiva was a bit different, too. He’s so calm. And they started thinking, “There is something wrong here.” Then they said, “Lord, with all of our respect, which leader are you showing us? Which lesson are you giving us?” At that moment, Shiva changed to his normal form, to Vishnu. And the devotees of Vishnu, when they looked at Vishnu, he changed to Shiva. The devotees were very confused. They didn’t know what to do. So, finally, both Shiva and Vishnu came together, called all the devotees together, and they saw a big bright light. They could not even look at this light. And when the light was vanished, they saw Dattatreya, the Holy Trinity – Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara – in one.
So, our mind tries to separate things, but look behind what only your physical eyes can see. Look at the light. This light which you all reflect, which everybody in this world reflects; this is the reality. When you achieve this level, know that you have come to the point of complete realisation. Keep practicing everyday, make it your daily sadhana. Meditate, sing the name of God. There are many ways you can reach this light. Like all the rivers flow back to the same ocean, the same is within all of you. All of you flow back to the same ocean. Make this deep ocean of love which you carry grow more and more, and the Lord will reveal Himself deep inside you.

One has to let go of the body and realise the bliss of the Spirit....

I’m really happy to be among all of you, especially, to be here in Fatima. It is such a blessed place, for the Divine Mother has appeared here – I’m sure – not only ninety years ago. She appeared many times, even five years ago when I was here. She appeared to me at the same place where the children saw her. And I’ve been seeing that she was very happy. (Laughing…)
You are all here to feel the Divine love. But most of all you are here to realise the Self. The Self that even Jesus Christ talked about. At the time when he considered himself as the son of man – it was the time of the crucifixion. When he said, that now it’s time for the son of man to be crucified and Judas would betray him, meaning this body.
Matthew said, God prepared His son with lots of purification and sent him to earth. The entire world incarnates in the Spirit. These two qualities, these two identities – being man and being Divine are equal for everybody. Even in the Koran it’s said, one has to let go of the body and realise the bliss of the Spirit. All the suffering will be removed. Realise the Divinity within the Self. So, as long as man thinks of himself to be human, just normal flesh, this person will be just the body. But if this person realises that within this body there lies another body which is even stronger... What is this body?
You will realise this cosmic Christ within, which is our Self. Of course, this is not a very quick process. You really have to dedicate yourself to that. It’s not just by touching it a little bit and feeling it and saying, “OK, this is good. I will take it or not.” You have really to be in it... deep inside. You really have to fall in love completely. Completely trust, to really know the depth of this love, to really know the depth of this trust. One way is through meditation.
It is important though, that you do not just fix always on the master, but you also have to do your own part. Be disciplined wherever you practice it. For sure, you will achieve the same level as the master has. Do not just touch it a little bit, as I said before, and after that you say, “Oh, it is very nice.” You do it for one week and finish with it. You should do it even when you are not feeling well, even if you think, “Oh, I’m tired today. I have lot of work today!” If you think that because you have worked all day you will not do it, this will really break this chain.
Therefore, it is important that you practice it twice daily: morning and evening, and if possible in between. It is always good to do more of it. It is always good to forget about the body and be the Self, isn’t it? You will be calmer; you will be happier, more joyful. You will reflect the light of the Divine more, rather than just being tired, working, working, working, and being tired. Moreover, the next day you wake up with a long face, not being nice, not reflecting any light, and doing the same routine everyday.
Meditation energises all parts of you. The body especially needs it a lot. The mind, which is always worrying about something, has to be calm. The easiest way to calm the mind is to focus it on the Divine. Whenever your mind is thinking... sometimes it happens, even though you don’t want to think something! But the thought is there. Then, after you have thought about it, you say, “Oh, why have I thought like that?” You are still thinking more about it! Instead, do this: When the thought passes through your mind, let it pass. Do not question it afterwards. In place of questioning it, recite the name of God. You love the Divine Mother? Think of Her. Recite Her name inside you. You like Jesus? Krishna? Any Divine aspect. So meditate on it.

Try to imagine a little bit with the mind, how close God is.....

Try to imagine a little bit with the mind, how close God is. It’s difficult, isn’t it? The mind will never let you imagine that, the mind will never let it. Only when you start thinking with the mind of the heart – then you can realise the Divinity completely.
So to think with the heart, how to do it? This is why meditation is important, when you can sit with yourself in silence. When Jesus said, “If you want to pray, run to the darkest corner of your house, close yourself and talk with your Father,” he meant, go in the inner chamber of your heart and talk with God. Talk with your true Self, and you will receive the answer. So in this inner chamber – what is there? Just love, nothing else.

Let go of your identity, let go of this ‘I’, this egoism that makes you focus only on the outer. When you let go of your identity, then the Divine will reveal itself to you. Then you will see the unlimited. You will feel the blissful happiness. So open up – if the mind is still troubling you, take any divine aspect, focus your mind on it and surrender to the divine aspect until you reach the formless. From the form to the formless. So, do you want God? Do you want realisation? (Audience: Yes!) Is it a “Yes” from the heart or from the mind? (Laughing… audience: From the heart!)
Don’t tell it to me – tell it to yourself and be sincere to yourself. Say, “Yes, I want it!” When you say it, “Yes, I want realisation, I want God!“ with such a determination, with such strength, such willpower, He will reveal Himself to you. He is accessible twenty-four hours, seven days a week, you know – always. He’s not limited to any time, He’s not limited to any place, He’s not limited to any form. When you close your eyes and drop inside yourself, you access Him. Try it.

But once the mind has seen the Light.....

The mind knows only the tangible things which are outside – running from one thing to another, looking for the eternal. Wherever the mind is focused you are not happy. Today you want a house. Tomorrow you will want a car. You will get the car and then so on and so on, because nothing outside can really hold the mind. But once the mind has seen the Light, once the mind has seen the Divine face-to-face, the mind gets consumed into that Divine Love. For this, it doesn’t matter whether you are here, whether you are at your place. It doesn’t matter what you are doing, but it just needs the sincerity of your heart. Just that. Simple!
You see Yogis meditating, you see great Sages meditating. Why? It’s because they have already come face-to-face with that Divine and for them, seeing the world, they don’t see it the way people see. They see it completely differently. That’s why if they have to explain that to humans they will not understand. They prefer to run away to caves to hide themselves. They say it’s better being in the cave and being with the Lord, helping the world than being with people who will not understand anything. Man always wants to understand things through the mind. Man always wants to know more and more. What will you do with it? Do you think next life you will take it with you? Ah, forget about that! All that you have studied in this life will be buried with you here. You will not take it to the next life with you. The only thing that you will take is what you are working on for your soul. That’s the only thing that you will take with you and this, you will carry through lives. This is because when you are spiritual in this life it’s because in the past you have already worked, through many lives you have worked your way to be here. It’s not just that God is saying “This one, I like his face. I will bring him on the spiritual path.” It’s not like that. You are here because in previous lives you have worked hard and this life you are also working hard, but this time is different from other times, it’s a very special time. All times are special, but at the moment we are living in a very specific time where God is giving Himself to you, whereas in other times you had to run towards Him. In this time He is running towards you.

Forget about the outside....

Sit down in meditation, the simple way that we have been taught, just do that. Do you know this simple meditation? Concentrate on your breathing. You listen to your breath when you’re inhaling and exhaling. You’re inhaling you say “So Ham. Hamsa, Hamsa.” What does hamsa mean? What is hamsa? Hamsa, hamsa, hamsa, hamsa becomes So Ham, So Ham, So Ham. What is a hamsa? I am that I am – So Ham. Hamsa means ever liberated, like the swan, which is the purest. When you look at the species of the swan, what do you see? He is ever free. He is always flying around freely. That’s what a hamsa is.
Like that, control your breathing through just sitting for five, ten minutes. You don’t need to look outside. Forget about the outside. Forget about everything that the mind perceives you to understand and inside just concentrate on your breathing – inhaling and exhaling – and, also, to retain your breathing. So when your breathing has come to a restrained state, you will Realise this Unification. Then the Lord will reveal Himself, that He is always with you. He is not out there. He is here [in your heart].
What makes these murtis alive is what you have inside of you. When Maharaji does the prayer, the prana pratish of the murti, it becomes alive, otherwise the murti is just a stone. What gives it life is the faith inside of you, the shradda that you have. That is the same shradda when you come here and pray you have the firm belief that the Lord is listening to you. Of course He is listening.

The 84th Door.....

Close your eyes, drop inside your heart and feel this fullness. Feel the greatness of yourself, this greatness is you. This greatness is who you really are, without any egoism. Keep concentrating on this greatness inside you. This great love which is emanating from your heart. It passes through each cell of your body. Try to reflect it outside. Isn’t it beautiful to see each person as the full light body? Let the eighty-fourth door of your heart open up. And if your mind is troubling you, sing the name of God. There are so many of them.

Om Namo Narayanaya, Om Namo Narayanaya...

Guided Meditation

I would like to do a small meditation with you. It’s a very simple meditation. We will use our imagination. Like when a child is being a bit naughty, you just give it a game. Give a toy to the child and let the child play. The child is the mind. So, we’ll give the mind a game, and we’ll let him play his game.

If possible, it’s good to dim the lights.

Try to sit straight, even in a chair. Make sure that your spine

is straight.

Listen to your breathing. Listen to it. With the mind,

imagine OM on your forehead. Listen to the beautiful

melody of your breathing. Let yourself be drawn deeper and

deeper in it. Your mind will think. Let it pass. Don’t try to

stop it. Don’t use force to stop it. Don’t give any importance

to it.

Keep your concentration on your breathing. Don’t hear

anything else other than your breathing.

To stop the mind, let’s use it now. Let’s use it to imagine how

God is looking at us. Imagine yourself being God. Imagine

the majesty, the hugeness, the purity, the light. See your

physical body full of light. See your body radiating this light

very brightly. There is so much joy within that is coming out

from inside you. So much happiness.

Now, imagine the people who surround you. Look at all of

them. See the same light in them. There’s no difference.

Visualize the town where we are. Everybody’s radiating

the same light. See the whole of California radiating light.

Imagine the animal kingdom. They also radiate the same

light. Imagine the plant kingdom. You see the same light.

See the ocean kingdom reflecting the same light.

See the whole U.S. full of light. See the whole world reflecting

this brilliant light. There is no disharmony. There is no hate.

There is just peace and love. The whole universe is radiating

this beautiful light.

Now, reduce all this light to one central point which is called

the heart. See yourself sitting in all this light around that

you have been imagining. See all this light shrinking and

entering one point – the heart. In the heart, you feel lots of

warmth… happiness… joy…

OM….. OM….. OM…..

You have really to be in it... deep inside......

Christmas 2011 with Sri Swami Vishwananda

You will realise this cosmic Christ within, which is our Self. Of course, this is not a very quick process. You really have to dedicate yourself to that. It’s not just by touching it a little bit and feeling it and saying, “OK, this is good. I will take it or not.” You have really to be in it... deep inside. You really have to fall in love completely. Completely trust, to really know the depth of this love, to really know the depth of this trust. One way is through meditation.

Actually there are many forms of meditation. If you are conscious of it, you can do it anywhere. However, you have to practice it daily. To achieve something, you have to be disciplined in it and practice it every day regularly. It is very important to practice without expectation.

This is the biggest problem in the world, that many people expect many things. They want to do a little and get a lot. Of course, you will get it if you receive the grace from a master. It can be activated and made faster for you.

Sri Swami Vishwananda talks about........

"You sit down quietly,go inward;go deeper and deeper till you find yourself – complete stillness! In this stillness you can hear the voice of God within you, then you can hear your own inner voice and this is the voice of God.And when you hear it,don’t doubt it."

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Sri Swami Vishwananda: "Let us use our imagination a bit."

Close your eyes and go inside of you. Let’s play with the mind a bit. I did it already. With the power of creation, with the power of thought, make your willpower strong and say that you are the child of God. Say, “I am the child of God.” Inwardly! Continue letting your mind think. Imagine now, how God is looking at us, whether He’s laughing, whether He’s enjoying it. Imagine each one of you to be a small God. Put yourself in the place of Jesus, in the place of Krishna – see that there is no difference between you and them. Look at the world how it is, see when you were small; it was the Divine who was looking through you. See your neighbours, see your parents – I mean the physical ones, see the people you know around, your friends, your relatives, but see them through the eyes of God – not the eyes of man. Is there any difference? On that level there is no difference. The same light dwells in everything, in the tree, the animal, in every human being. In everything there is this light; in everything there is this energy of love.

See how beautiful it is, how peaceful this world can be, if everybody sees it in that way.

Forget about your body. Just concentrate on yourself and the Divine within you. If the mind is playing games with you, close your eyes and repeat inside, “I am the light. I am love. I am joy, I am peace!”

Recite it many times, until you become this light, this love, this joy, and this peace. See it. See it in the eyes of God that there is no difference; see it in the eyes of Jesus. You will see there is no difference. See it in the eyes of Krishna; you will see there is no difference. See in the eyes of any master, that there is no difference. But if you try to see it with the mind, you will just see difference, nothing else.

Every prayer, every thought, every action, vibrates on a certain level. Raise the frequency of vibration; raise it in your consciousness… You are an instrument of the Divine. Let us show that we are this instrument, not just by saying it, also by our actions, how we welcome everything…

Keep reminding yourself. Now say it, “I am Divine!” Each breath that you’re taking, say inwardly to yourself, “I am Divine!”

Picture in your mind a beautiful forest. This forest that you are picturing is your own creation, the creation of God within you. The same way that God created the world – by the willpower, by the power of word – create this beautiful forest inside you. This forest will wear your name, each one. And in this forest there is just peace and love.

Each tree in this forest is your own reflection. It is your Self… This is the kingdom of the plant…

Picture in the mind the animal you love most – you can also see lots of animals. Be in the super-conscious. You are part of the creation of the animal kingdom. See yourself in all the animals you are creating… There you are also present in the animal kingdom…

Picture yourself as being in a mighty mountain. You are also present in it. Each stone on it is your creation… See yourself as being the mountain. Create the whole sky with lots of stars. Each one of the shining stars is your Self…

Now picture yourself in any Divine form that you like very much and say to this form, “You and I, there is no difference. We are one.” And listen to this inner conversation – between the form you have created and your self. Listen to it. You will see He is laughing at it. Finally, you understand. Finally, you have come to this point of knowing that you and I are one. You and all the whole creation are just one…

And finally, see the merging of all in your body – that whatever you have imagined, whatever you have created in the power of the mind is present in you. Your body is just light – pure consciousness of God. You are the Christ consciousness, you are the Krishna consciousness, and you are the super-consciousness. Now, slowly open your eyes…

A guided meditation:

Sri Swami Vishwananda: I would like to do a little meditation with you-a very simple one.

A guided meditation:

I show you a very simple meditation that you can give to anybody.

A guided meditation:

Try to sit straight. Your spine should be straight First of all, I will ask you to take a normal breath, breathe normally, a few times. Now that you have breathed, concentrate yourself. Focus on the third eye. Close your eyes. Use your creative power now, because, as I said, you are a child of God. As God is the Creator, you are the creator also. With your creative power, the power of creation that God has given to mankind, to all of you, create the Om sign, or any divine Sign, the Cross, the Crescent, any sign that you feel close with. Create it on the third eye. And with your hearing, with your ears, listen deeply to your breathing. Listen to it. And breathe Om. Take your time. Do it in a relaxed way. Breathe slowly Om in and breathe slowly Om out. But keep your focus on your Ajna Chakra, on your third eye. After some time you will feel that on the third eye it is a bit ticklish, like something is working. Go deep into it. Let this vibration go down the spine from your head to the base chakra. Let it flow. With your breathing, breathe Om. Let it vibrate. Let the Om sound vibrate on all parts of your body. Now, reduce the size of the Om. Bring it back to your third eye. Bring it to your heart. Let it stay in your heart. Let it vibrate in your heart. Chant with me: “Om” By chanting Om or meditating on Om, you reap the vibration of peace, joy and happiness. This vibration helps humans to achieve their Real Self, let´s say, to realise the pure Consciousness of God within oneself. You can feel it, even when you say it. When it vibrates, when you say Om, let it vibrate on the solar plexus. All the power of creation, all the whole universe is present deep inside you. Let it vibrate in each cell of your body. Every time you have a little spare time, sit down and just breathe Om in and Om out.

Sri Swami Vishwananda talks about........

If you want to start the communication with the Divine within yourself, be as much silent as possible. But if you want to start the communication with man, then keep talking! You know how beautiful it is to listen to the Divine inside you? It’s the most beautiful thing; I can’t even express it with words, because words are still limited.

Like I said yesterday, “From the form to the formless, from the name to the nameless.” This is the Divine in each one of you. And to be always in this place, to be always in this awareness and find that you are not separate from the Divine…it’s so beautiful, it’s so filling! Whenever you do something there is always a gap, something that is unsatisfied. But whereas – when you have discovered the reality in you – whatever you do – the satisfaction will be complete!

Sri Swami Vishwananda talks about........

"I have come to help you, to give something, which is very simple, for attaining this state of Bliss. It’s through meditation, actually. We breathe every day so many times. How many times do we realize how important is this breath? Not many times, because it´s so normal, isn´t it? It´s a routine; it happens automatically. So if you really want to realize God, try to meditate."

Friday, October 16, 2009

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

So, I would like to do a short meditation with you. It’s very good if you can sit up in the chair. If you don’t feel comfortable, don’t try it, just sit normally. Just be sure that your spine is straight, because the Divine energy, the cosmic Christ-energy always goes in a straight line. And with such a power – even if you are not conscious that it is going inside your body, it is. But when you sit in a bent way, when your back or your spine is curved, it’s the same as when you drive a car. When you have to go on a curve, you always press the break, don’t you? So, in the same way the energy reduces the speed. That’s why it is important that your spine is straight. With speed and force, it can also reach all parts of your body.

Actually there are many forms of meditation. What we will do is one very simple one that everybody can do, wherever you are, whatever you are doing.
