He is patient to wait for you, but you are not patient to wait for Him....

There is a question  that many people have asked “Why don’t we see God?”. They always ask me this question, but now I reverse the question to you. You tell me what is the reason for people not to see God? Everybody knows that God is omnipresent; everybody knows that He is present in you, in me, in everything. We know it, but why don’t we see it? The human mind is so entangled with the sense objects and pride, that it makes it difficult to see God. Actually, we are continuously, always in Him and He is always in us. There is never a moment that He is not present. From day one, before you take birth, He was here inside of you already.How many times in your life have you said “God is not with me”? Faith is there. As God is there, faith is there. We don’t try our best; we don’t persevere. Perseverance is important if you try something, but if it’s not the same as what you expected, you stop. Then what happens? You will never succeed. You have to keep trying. It is there already. By seeing your effort, He will reveal Himself to you. There is another question which will arise “But Swamiji, we are so much into the world, shall we leave everything to realise God?” Even today I had this question. No, actually the answer is you don’t need to leave anything to realise the Divine. To realise the reality, first say to yourself that you live in the reality and this reality is inside of you. To perceive this reality in your daily life, in your daily actions, you will realise that the Divine is always with you. But if you don’t perceive the reality with you, you expect that God will appear in a light and say “Here, cuckoo, I am here”.  You can wait for some lives! I tell you something: He is patient to wait for you, but you are not patient to wait for Him. So live in the world, do everything, but do it in the mind-set of surrendering. No matter what action you do, surrender it to the Divine. Know that whatever action you do, whether it is, positive or negative, it is a prayer for and in front of Him. If in this attitude you surrender every action to the Divine, it will be pure always. In the  Soundarya Lahari, Sri Adi Shankaracharya wrote about it. He said “Oh, Divine, I give you everything. Let my every action of surrender to You, be a prayer to your Feet. When I am lying down, sleeping, let it be a prostration to your Feet! Be it that every food that I am eating is an offering to Thee.” Like that, all the actions that you are doing in daily life, if you do them with the remembrance of the Divine, they will be pure, because the Divine is not limited half as much as we think of Him. We are limited. We are limited, because our mind, our pride, our ego is so huge, that we live in this world and we get attached to the world. We make our whole life depend on this world. Like the great Sages said “Live in the world, but don’t let the world live in you. If you let the world live in you, then God becomes far away.” Like the lotus. Have you seen the lotus flower? Where does the lotus flower grow? In mud – it comes out from mud. All the mud doesn’t affect it. Such is the Divine inside of you also. Such is who you are in reality. You live in this world. Don’t let the negativity of this world affect you. Be positive firstly. If you are positive, automatically you will be humble. Humility – this is a nice word. Humbleness means acceptance – to accept yourself how you are and to know that what you are looking for on the outside doesn’t reside on the outside. It resides here inside of you. If He has humbled Himself inside of you, why can’t you be humble on the outside? Why can’t you be loving on the outside? Why? This has to change. Don’t expect that I will change you or God will change you. You have to change yourself. This is the self-effort from your side. We will help you, but make the first effort. Otherwise, it’s difficult. 

Only a few really know the importance of prayer......

Prayer: that’s what transforms somebody. Through prayer, people find solace; some to attain the lotus feet of the Lord, some to achieve whatever they desire in life. But the main thing is to pray: that’s what transform you, what gives you this inner glow, so that you can call yourself spiritual. People, humans are always on a search. They are always searching for something. Some people search for it in the outside world. Some people search for it in the inside world. But, only few really know the importance of prayer. In the Ramcharitmanas, Tulsidas said “The value of a stone is known only to somebody who knows about gems”. Then they can value how precious the stone is. The same thing: if somebody knows the glory of prayer, the glory of chanting the Divine Names, they know the value of it.

Floating in the Hand of God......

In this kirtan that we just sang, the meaning of the first two lines: Chori Chori Makhan Kha Gayo Re is: very stealthily Krishna is stealing butter and eating it. The second line, Sabke Man Ko Loobha Gayo Re, means: in the same way He steals the butter, the same way God steals the heart of Man.  God steals the hearts of men, the same way, little by little, He steals the heart. This is actually the Love. This is what one has to go through to let one’s heart be stolen by God. The more you resist, the more it becomes difficult. The more you say “Yes, take it. Steal it. It is yours already,” the more you will see how you float in your spiritual path, how you float in the hand of God, but the more you use the mind and try to stop it, the more you will see that there will be lots of pain that will come. The pain gets transformed into Divine Love, merges into Divine Love and becomes Divine Love, because even pain, even problems, all is from Him. The one small step that one has to take is to realise that it is from Him. We know it and we say “Yes, everything is from God,” but when a problem comes we forget about God. We don’t say that it is from God. Actually, there is His Hand in it also, we just need to be aware of that. In the calmness of your mind, in the depth of your heart, you know that everything is His game. All of you who are sitting here know it’s His game. As long as we like this drama, as long as we want to play this game, we will be in the game. That’s what Krishna did as His Lila when he was small, and that’s the same Lila that we are all playing. We think that spirituality is far away. No, spirituality is very near; it’s just here in one’s heart. In all the techniques that we will be talking about very soon – through the grace of Mahavatar Babaji we’ll be doing the Atma Kriya – He is there already. He is already sitting there. All techniques lead you to this path. With all these techniques that we do, including meditation, we are saying to God “Here, I am surrendering myself. Reveal Yourself to me. Let me taste the little sweetness of the Amrita that You are, that is deep within me.” Like I said, through the grace of Mahavatar Babaji, soon we’ll do the Atma Kriya and you will see how easy it is to be in the different mood of the Divine, anytime. Often people think “Why do we have to be spiritual? Why do we have to be ready for God?” Why not just sit down and say “God will give whenever He wants to give?” It’s true if you don’t make any effort, you will not know how to handle what God wants to give you. It’s only when you start making your effort and say “Yes God, I’m working on myself to be ready for You. I’m working on myself to be ready for this realisation and I’m trying to be ready also to help others”, then God will give it to you. Even if He has to give it on a silver plate or even on a diamond plate, He will do it, but the effort, you have to do it. When you look at the mind, it’s decorated with so many beautiful things that it traps people into it. To become spiritual is to divert this beauty of the mind to the heart, and go in the boat of the heart to reach the final destination, to reach the Oneness of God within you. All that you are practicing is good; whatever path you take is good. Know that the main thing is that you have to reach. The more you say “Yes, take it. Steal it. It is yours already”, the more you will see how you float in your spiritual path, how you float in the hand of God. But the more you use the mind and try to stop it, the more you will see that there will be lots of pain that will come.

"If I have the complete realisation of God, will I really stay the same? Will I really see the world in the same way?”

Do you want to wake it up? Do you really want it or not? You think you are not sure about it? It’s when you really want something that you must have the power to say, “Yes, I want it!” Not only, “Maybe I want it, maybe I don’t want it.” Because then you are not sure about what you really want. In one way human beings want realisation, they want God. In another way they say, “If I have the complete realisation of God, will I really stay the same? Will I really see the world in the same way?” But with this way of thinking it will never happen. Try as much as you want. Let it be said: you can’t serve two masters at a time!You can’t have the complete realisation of God and at the same time say that you want the material world. I tell you something: in the completeness, in the Divine consciousness, everything is present. Where else than in the mere mind of man can one just see what these two eyes perceive? On one hand there is everything, everything means also the material part. On the other hand there is just the material part and illusion. You meet people, they try to see what is beautiful, and they get attached to it and keep it. It’s our own happiness that arises in our life, from deep within where we receive the goal. But something is missing; it is not complete.Whenever you read in any Holy book, the Bible, also the Bhagavad Gita, it is said that Lord Krishna or Jesus went far away in a desert corner or on a higher mountain to sit down and talk with God. However, each one of us, we can also go deep inside of ourselves and raise the vibration in our self, reach to the higher level, and open to the consciousness of God. Let the light flow through you and become the Self and realise it; and know that you are the Self, and that the Self is acting for you. And when the Self is acting for you, for sure everything will be perfect. There is no doubt – with the power of trust you have in the mind.When you have this power of trust, this willpower, then you can create in the mind what you really want! Imagine it. Make it a thought, and project this thought on whatever you want, and say by the power of word, “I want that!” See what happens! See what Jesus did, when some people came and said, “This person is ill. Can you please heal him?” What did he answer? He didn’t say much. He just said, “Be healed!” The person did heal – because in his consciousness, Jesus was always with the Divine, always with the Father. He didn’t have any doubt in his own word, he didn’t doubt himself. He didn’t say, “OK, let me heal.” With strong conviction, he said, “Be healed!” But it’s also true that the person has to have faith in Jesus.They already had developed this healing process inside and they came to Jesus to contact this higher frequency of energy. And they did get healed. Like Sri Yukteswar always said, “The power of the mind, it’s here to heal and to not heal. If we really want to be healed, change the thought. Make it become wisdom. Then you will be healed.” The wisdom that lies deep inside of each one of you knows, because you are all part of the Divine. If you remove the gross body outside, the body made of this fibre… you are just the pure light of God. And in this light the whole wisdom and knowledge is present. But sometimes you do need somebody to tell you, to remind you always of that.Don’t worry. I will always remind you that you are Divine! Even if my mouth gets tired, my heart will still say it, until you reach this level. So did Jesus Christ. Many of you think, “Jesus is so great. Why did he die? Why did his body die? Why did he go through the crucifixion?” Right now it’s Easter. Before the crucifixion, he knew that inside himself something great was happening, something that human minds can’t understand. He materialised his body into light, like he did when he transmuted himself on the mountain.How many people will really understand that? Not many. He did it to show that within our body lays the spiritual body. We all can get access to this spiritual body if we really want it.

Realising Eternal Bliss.....

God has sent you all here, not just to stay here, not only to work, He has put you here to Realise the Oneness with Him, to get rid of the shadow that has covered your soul.  When this shadow has gone away, the light will shine. The power of the mind will be less, but the power of the heart will be stronger. You will be more loving and calmer and the easiest way to do that is through meditation. It’s only when you take time for you, when you take time and look deep inside you, that you will Realise it. You can help, you can love, but without loving yourself first, without Realising this love within yourself, it’s difficult to really love. So, work first to start loving yourself, trusting in yourself, what you feel, in your intuition. By trusting in yourself you will trust in God. By loving yourself you will love God and you will love everybody without any conditions, without any judgement. It will just be pure Love. Sit down every day for 15 minutes and lose yourself in the Divine Bliss, which is deep inside you. Forget the world. Forget even your body, but concentrate on the Divine deep inside you. 

 Man is the incarnation of the Supreme Cosmic Eternal Bliss. If we think of ourselves as being this bliss and focus on it, we will become this bliss, but by our own effort.
