Sri Swami Vishwananda tells us today
I was asked a question, a few days ago actually. Somebody asked me “Swamiji, you always say, also Christ said it, ‘Blessed are the poor in the Spirit, for they shall inherit God’”.
The person said to me “Shall we be ignorant?”.
Well it’s not what I said.
You see: Blessed are the poor in the mind.
Christ actually didn’t mean that you have to be completely ignorant to realize God.
What He means is: One has to have knowledge about God, because if you are ignorant you will not know anything.
But very often [because of] knowledge arises pride and we get so much attached to our knowledge, that even the reality gets covered. And when you are in ignorance, of course it’s not good.
Actually, it’s good that both are in balance, but at the same time- if you want to realize God fully, you have to put aside both of them.
Knowledge is in the mind and if you want to understand the Divine with the mind it’s futile.
You will never be able to understand. We want to grasp something, which is impossible to grasp, which is not physical.
But our mind understands, even our heart understands only what is physical, what we can grab and handle.
