Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

You all know Ramakrishna, no? You see in the temple of Dakshineshwar, where the Divine Mother reside, he was a priest there and in the temple everyday he will go and he will clean all the vessel there, which is used for the prayer. And among the vessel, there was one very shiny pot, where everyday he will give special attention to that pot and he will clean it till its shine. But everyday it was very shiny. So, one day the people was wondering “Tell, what’s going, why he cleans that vessel. He give more importance to that vessel. So they say “Ok let’s go and ask him”. So they went and ask “Swamiji, why do you clean like that” and he look at them and he said “I clean this vessel specially, everyday and the way I clean it , that it shine what I have inside, that it bring forth, what I have deep inside in reality”. So he said “what bring out from deep in, from deep within, when I clean all the negativity from this pot is like cleaning which is around the soul. Removing all the negative quality and let shine the good thought, let shine the purity of your mind, let shine the purity of your action and let shine your true self.

Like that we also in daily, we have to purify, then analyse our self, because we have a mind, a mind that continuously judge, a mind that continuously see the fault in other people, see the fault in whatever that we don’t accept. Because human is not something that will accept their fault, their fault, because human like to put the blame on somebody else.

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

I would like to tell you a very sweet story with a great meaning in it. Once there was a master and his disciples. They were walking in a field, and while walking, the master just stopped and looked at a rosebush and said to his disciples, “Look how beautiful nature is!” The master was in ecstasy. The disciples looked at the roses, they looked around, they looked at the bush – but they could not understand what the master was saying. They were looking and looking, and then the master said, “You can’t see, eh?”

They were very confused. They started looking at the roses, looking at each other, and then they looked at the master. The master looked at them, at their long faces, looking back at him with a lot of confusion.

Then he said to the disciples, “Look at the flowers. Look how beautiful they are. Look at them. They are living and acting now, without any hope for the future or any regret for the past. They are living and acting in the present moment, and finally they are giving their fragrance, without any motive, without any expectation – freely. They are living their lives fully. You understand what is behind it? Nature is doing its work, and humans can learn so much from nature – even from a rose. The rose is not expecting anything, but what do humans do? Instead of putting their lives into right action, they are wasting time, expecting always and bringing misery on themselves. And then what do they say? “Oh God! Why do you send misery to me? I have always done well to you. I remember you always.” But on the other hand they are always expecting.

In this game that they are playing, they forget about their true nature. They forget about why they are here. And they like it, you know. They like to say, “Oh, I’m the poor one!” They don’t say, “I am the Divine, I am the creator of everything.” They like hanging around for the future, for what is to come in the future or what has been done in the past, they keep bringing it up all the time. Do you think this will bring happiness to humankind? No! Only misery.

Even when they sit for meditation people expect to see some light, to see God in front of them. But I tell you, even this is an expectation and with this expectation in the mind, you will never see the light. You will never see the Divine. Only when you let yourself say, “God, I have tried everything. Now I abandon myself with all my expectations, completely, to you.” Then you’ll see the light. The light will reveal itself to you, because the light is yourself.

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

Once there was a boy. He was studying sculpture. So his father was his teacher, his father was a well-known sculptor. So he will study and after some time the father said “My son now it’s time for you to go and study further in this school”. So he went to school to study, he went to college to study and he became very, very, very good in the art of sculpturing and everybody was flatted him- Everybody. Whenever he will make beautiful statue, everybody was flatted him, you know? Say, oh your statue is so perfect, so good. But when he show this statue to the father, the father will always find something negative into the sculpture. Even if this people would say it’s perfect, it’s very beautiful, but the father would “No, it’s wrong”.

So, after years and years, the son start to think why my father always say that I have some defect in the statue?
So, one day, an idea cross his mind. He said to one of his close friend “Here, I have sculpture this beautiful sculpture, I would like you to bring this statue to my father and say that you have sculpture this statue and I will hide and I will listen.”

So, the friend brought the statue to the father of the boy and when the father saw the statue, such beauty, such finesse in the statue and he start praising the sculpture and also the sculptor. He said for sure who ever have sculpture this statue, should be a very great artist. And as he was praising, the son came out from the hiding and said: “Father, I sculpture the statue. I am the sculptor of this statue. I sculptured it. This is my statue. You always find defect in the statue, right now you are praising the statue. Tell me now what do you see as defect in the statue?

Then the father said “Ok my son now its time for you to know the truth.” He said: “This statue always you have carved was perfect, but I have never told you. From the beginning it was perfect, it was very good, but I have never told you that it is very good, for your ego and pride not to stop you. Today who you are is because every time that I have said there is a defect you have tried to improve yourself. But if from the beginning I would tell you yes you are right what will have happen? You would have stop your progressing. The ego will have taken place, you will have stop everything. Hearing that the son fall at his father’s feet and said “Really you are a great teacher” and from that moment he didn’t stop of progressing.
