What I want to share from my experiences is that love conquers everything. It is my hope that it will inspire the readers to open their hearts to the Divine. If we can try to understand that we all are equally part of the Divine and are here to achieve this greater Truth and to realise our Self - if we make this our goal and do everything with Love…then everything will be lovely and you will always be happy.

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

You come to Swami and Swami says, “Don’t worry, just love!” You are not satisfied, are you? But if Swami said, “Do a mantra ten thousand times,” you would be happy with it! These ten thousand times while you were doing this mantra, you would lose the consciousness of the mind. You would merge into the consciousness of the Divine. You would become love. The same thing I would give you much easier – I would give it to you on a plate and you would refuse it! The same thing God is giving you: Love. The realisation of love is already in your heart. The moment you are born, it’s already there. It’s up to each one of you to let it out.

Leave the problems apart, leave your worries apart – be this love, be this Eternal Love, and enjoy it! Love is simple, if you have it inside your heart. Is it difficult? What a simple word. Let it flow! Everything is in it, everything – even the cosmic float itself is present in it. So make this your goal: Wanting love! Want it! First thing in the morning when you wake up, say it, “I want love, I am love!” During the day recite, “I am love.” And at night, when you are going to bed, recite, “I am love.” First you start by reciting it outside to conquer the power of the mind. Then you say it inwardly, quietly, within yourself, “I am love.” Then you say it with all parts of your body, “I am love.” And at the end – just be love! Nothing else, just love.

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

Jai Gurudev!

Today I would like to talk about the mind – a big subject. Many people are scared of this subject. Actually, you don’t need to be scared of the mind. The mind of its own is a great gift of God – because it is through the mind that you can achieve the Divine. But what is wrong with thought? It is said, the way you think, that’s the way you are. If you think you are Divine, you will become Divine. But if you think you’re just a mere human being, you will stay always this mere human being. So this is the power of thought. So, to control the mind is to control how you think – to control the thoughts. If the thoughts are good, the result outside will be good. However, if the thoughts are wrong, do you expect anything good will come out of them?

This is how our thought, how our mind, how our thinking works. Whereas if you look at our mind as a gift that God has given us, how marvellous it is! Imagine: your brain can record eight hundred memories per second. Do you think a computer can do that? And it can last seventy-five years without getting exhausted – night and day. Imagine this storehouse that the mind has. Imagine the storage that the brain has, it’s so small, isn’t it? But it can store about ten billion to hundred billion memories in a life time. Even a computer can’t keep such memories.

So if scientists had to build a computer that could store that much – I think this building would be one of the biggest buildings in the world, storing so much information. But how marvellous is this creation of God! That such a small brain can keep so many things inside! But people let the mind control themselves. They let themselves become the slaves of their thoughts. And they enjoy it. To control the thought – the thought will pass by. You know inside your heart whether it is constructive or destructive. It’s up to you whether you want to feed the thought with the right food or deny it. If our thoughts are negative, we keep feeding them with negativity and we become miserable. We create misery with unhappiness and problems. If the thought would be more positive, the mind would be more constructive. Then happiness, joy and peace will enter. Start by thinking positive about yourself. You can’t think positive of others unless you are positive yourself.

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

What I would like to talk about with you today is meditation and thought. Lots of people meditate. Meditation is very good. Once you start the spiritual path, the first thing they tell you is to sit down and meditate. But you can’t meditate twenty-four hours. It’s quite difficult, isn’t it? For some yogis it is possible – but even they, after some time, do take a rest. Some yogis can stay in samadhi for days. For years! But after that they have to take a rest. I met a yogi in India who is about two hundred years old; even more than that. Of course, among all the yogis, the raj yogi Mahavatar Babaji is more than five thousand years old. Raj yogi means the king of all yogis, but even he walks around with people. So, we can’t meditate always – especially here in the West. But there is a substitute for it – the thought. The mind that God has placed in humans is very powerful. You can create or you can destroy with it. It’s up to each one of you how to control the thoughts. So the first thing in spirituality, the first, and the best thing you can do, is to control the thought. The more the thought is negative, it reflects outside. Very often these negative thoughts are about one’s own self, thinking “How bad I am, how negative I am.” You know you are negative, but you enjoy it. (Laughing) But why enjoy it? Why like it? First, we have to change the thoughts about ourselves. Then we can change the thoughts towards other people. As long as we judge ourselves, we only look at the negative part of our own self.

Thought is very easy to control. You don’t need to sit down to control it. When the thought is passing through your mind, you know about the thought. You know whether it is positive or negative. So if it is positive, it will be constructive – feed it, then let it grow! But when it is negative, try not to feed it. Then you say to yourself, “This is not me.” And let go of it. When you let go of the thought, you will see how beautiful your own life is, and how great this life is that God has given us. Also in your meditation will be easier. For the powerful thoughts are the positivism in human beings. Through thoughts, whatever you wish for yourself, whatever you think about, you will receive it.

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

Only when your mind is quiet will you hear the heart talking to you. So keep practicing, I always say it, and I will keep saying it – maybe every time you come for darshan you will hear the same thing. As long as you don’t practice it properly I will keep saying it, I will bore you with it, because I would love all of you to reach Divinity. I want all of you to realise the love of God that is inside you, not only that – I want all of you to become an instrument of this love, you know, and share it around. Bring it to everybody. You don’t need to go and hug the person or whatever to share the love of God – just by the reflection of your face, this light will be passed on wherever you go; this light will be continuously with you.

Jai Gurudev!

Swami Vishwananda tells you today:

So many times people have said to me, “Oh, you know, half an hour of meditation is long enough, and one hour is way too long.” If you can’t do one hour meditation, you should not force yourself. If you can’t meditate for half an hour you should not do it. If you can only do it for one minute, then do a perfect one! Then there is one minute just between you and God, between you and Yourself – so enjoy it! It’s better than meditating for a whole day and not attaining anything!

So keep practicing. I always say it and keep saying it all the time. When you make the effort, the Lord will run to you. It’s said, “Make one step towards God, and he will make a hundred towards you.” It’s true, you know. The moment you are sincere with yourself and you make this one step, you’ll receive His grace. The door will be wide open, and you will see the Lord running to you! You know how beautiful it is, to experience that? How joyful it is! Words can’t express it. I can just say ‘joyful’, but it is beyond that. It even is beyond the word of love itself! The mind can only imagine it, how it is to be continuously, constantly in love. It’s marvellous.

This type of love is unconditional. It’s without the expectation of anything in return. It’s just a flowing, a continuous flowing. Be this instrument, all of you! Don’t be scared to open up your heart; don’t be scared of getting hurt. Just love for the sake of loving. Just love because you are love. Just love because you have this fountain inside of you.

But as long as you expect something in return, then you invite sadness and grief to come into your life. You will never be truly happy, because expectation is present. Even when you sit down for meditation, or when you are singing the name of God, don’t expect that God will appear in front of you. Many people do think this way. “Baff”, a big light appears in front of you and Jesus says, “Hi, my child!” Remove this from your mind. Just do it because you love to do it. Jai Gurudev!
